2017 Scholars Ceremony

The New Orleans Hispanic Heritage Foundation honored its 2017 scholars from the finest public, private and parochial schools in the New Orleans area, awarding 53 scholarships and providing the environment for the scholars and their families to meet their heads of schools and school counselors, as well as the members of the Board of Directors of the NOHHF and many friends and sponsors of the Foundation. 34 graduating seniors and 19 underclassmen from 17 participating local high schools were recognized at the 2017 ceremony and reception which took place at the Henson Auditorium of Isidore Newman School, in New Orleans, on April 26th. This year’s participating schools included Archbishop Rummel High School, Bonnabel Magnet Academy High School, Brother Martin High School, Cabrini High School, De la Salle High School, East Jefferson High School, Grace King High School, Haynes Academy for Advanced Studies, Helen Cox High School, International High School of New Orleans, Isidore Newman School, Jesuit High School, L.W. Higgins High School, Lusher Charter School, Metairie Park Country Day School, Mount Carmel Academy and St. Mary’s Dominican High School. Great Houses of Havana: A Century of Cuban Style

New Orleans, LA – On Friday, April 7, 2017, the New Orleans Hispanic Heritage Foundation (NOHHF) will sponsor renowned Cuban author and architect Hermes Mallea with the presentation of his book Great Houses of Havana: A Century of Cuban Style, the Monacelli Press, November 2011. At the presentation, Mr. Mallea will give an insider’s tour of some of Havana’s most important architectural homes built between 1860 and 1960 and discuss the fascinating personal histories of these homes alongside Havana’s architectural patrimony.

Cartier-Style Diamond and Gold Necklace

This is a gorgeous 14K yellow gold estate Cartier Panther-style necklace. It features a beautiful geometric link design and is centered with approximately 36 sparkling round-cut diamonds having an approximate total weight of 0.70 carats. The diamonds have an average color of “H-I” and an average clarity of “VS2”. The necklace measures 9 mm in width and 18 inches in length, and weighs 35.5 grams. 2017 Azúcar Ball

The 2017 Azúcar Ball promises to be a fantastic affair. Our most important fundraising event of the year will take place Saturday, December 2nd at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans, 601 Loyola Avenue, starting with the Patron Party at 7:00PM and followed by a fun-filled Ball at 8:00PM. Great music, dancing, food from New Orleans’ finest restaurants, great silent auction, a unique raffle and much more. Mark your calendar!!
